A Family of Computer Nerds

Right now 5:20 pm.

Emily is on her very own computer with touch screen mastering Reader Rabbit Toddler.

Mia is awake in her carrier. When I'm holding her she looks longingly at the computer like she wants to play too.

Rich is always in working on computers

Me is always on her laptop and enjoying her new flat screen attachment. I am working on new etsy items. Designing and printing.

Double Digits

Today Mia is double digits in weeks. She went to the doctor and had 3 shots (2 in the right leg and 1 in the left) and had the rotovirus given by mouth. She didn't cry until the vaccine was squeezed out of the syringe. We got home and she fell asleep and has been sleeping in her crib for almost 2 hours.

Weight: 14 lbs 2 oz

Height: 25 1/4"

Eat: 4-8 oz at a feeding

Plays after she eats

Naps about 3-5 times a day.

I love Cold Rainy days!

Today is cold and pouring rain. I'm all nice and cozy wearing black sport pants and a sweatshirt working on the computer listening too Andrew Biocolli. Mia is sound asleep in her carrier. Emily is at grandparents. Rich is working on Emily's game computer. I love listening to the rain.

Last night I finally bought a Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet. I did lots of researching and price checking. I decided just for a few more dollars to go with a brand new one instead of refurbished one. With free shipping it should arrive next Monday, I'll cross my fingers and hope I see it at the end of this week.

I made a new label set last night, while working on a ELO 17" touchscreen monitor. This morning I showed Emily how she could play games and paint with her finger. She loves it. The Freehand paint is like fingerpainting without the supplies and the mess. She was so proud to sit in her chair and show grandma how it worked. So Rich is making her a computer box so she can have her own set up.

Rich set me up with a ViewSonic monitor attached to my laptop. I so nice being able to work on a large screen. I didn't realize that my 12" laptop monitor was so small until I started working on a 17". So maybe I'll get more done, or at least the color will look better. Now I need to get my printer working.

Scalloped Square + Needy Child

I designed some Scalloped Square journaling blocks yesterday. I really dying to get a tablet more then ever. I've saved up enough money now from ebay sells. Now I'm just waiting for my new paypal debit card to arrive so I can use my funds. I found a bamboo pen tablet refurbished on Amazon for $42. That is $28 off the MSRP price.

On another note:
Emily is being very needy today. Everytime I sit down its something else. New choco milk this is old after only 15 minutes. Or "my feet itch i need socks", put on new clean socks, sit down, "take socks off", take socks off, "my feet are itchy" - I told oh well. Then its her blanket, which is 2 1/2 years old, she things every fuzz ball is a bug. So she starts crying "get it off", its just fuzz. I'm already at my last nerve and its only 10:30 am.
Mia was being all squirmy on the couch, so when I got up to change Emily I put Mia in her crib. She just played and watched her piano. Then fell asleep. So I have at least one good baby today.
I doesn't help that I've only had about 2 hours of restless sleep last night. I went to bed around 3 am and Mia woke up around 3:30 am and stayed awake inbetween bottle until around 6:30 am and then Emily was up at 8:30 am with her crying fits.
Hopefully I'll make through the day. On a good note, I sold 2 books on ebay and put them in the mail box. I fed the Jubi and took out one trash can. So we'll see how the day goes.

Please Gimme a Nose!

We woke up this morning to the doorbell around 8:45. It was FedEx. I got the package. Mia was crashed out so I laid her in the crib. She slept 2 hours. Around 11 am she woke up I got her a bottle and fell asleep again on the couch until 1 pm. Emily was still out. Grandma and Pop came over and brought over some collard greens and Emmy a cheeseburger and fries. After they left and Mia went to sleep in her carrier I told Emily we would make cookies. She has been talking about making starfish cookies ever since she found a star cookie cutter.

I cleaned the kitchen first, got Mia to sleep and then started making cookies. I didn't have enough chocolate chips, so I made the chocolate cookie batter with no chips. I put the choco chips in a bowl for her to use as decorations. So I had her wash her hands, then standing on her stool she put one-five chips on top of each cookie. Then when I put the cookies on the cooling rach she added more chips. The last dozen she decided she wanted help. I put the chocolate chips on my side and Emily would say, "Please gimme a nose." Then she would reach in get a chocolate chip and put on her cookie. Then again, "Please gimme a nose." She said she had fun decorating. She said she had 2 cookies, I told her there were 36 so she repeated after me, "thirty-eight and six and thirty-eight and seven."

Another Wish List

I've been selling away on ebay and dreaming of some new stuff as well. I was initally saving up for some new scrapbook paper, but since I've been playing so much on Adobe I really like the idea of Wacom tablet and a new camera lense. So here is a list of my wish list I'm saving for.

This is the new line of Christmas/Winter paper from Cosmo Cricket. I also love the Girl Friday and Early Bird Line.

This is the Bamboo Wacom the cheapest of the Wacom family. I almost have enough money for this, but then I won't be able to get any paper. Maybe I can then make more digital items to sell to buy some paper.

Here is the 50mm portrait lense. I've wanting to get this for over a year now, to take indoor pictures. I used this lense at a wedding last year and loved it. I just need to invest in my own.

Almost Friday

I can't belive its almost Friday, where did the week go. I've have been exhuasted all week. Monday-Wednesday I just couldn't get motivated. I just wanted to sleep.

Emily has been active as usual watching 101 Dalmations and Scooby Doo. This week she name two of her dolls for the first time. She had lined them up and said "Emily and Emily."

Mia has been sleeping better at night and in her crib. Today I moved the crib in the dining room, where I have better access to it. She took a 2 hour nap in the crib this afternoon while I vacuumed and cleaned the living room. That was nice.

I made supper tonight. Meatloaf. Rich's favorite.

Tomorrow's cleaning agenda is the kitchen. Wash the dishes, vacuum and mop the floor.

Its Mines Show

Its been chilly for the last few days. Colder then usual for this time of the year. Last night is was 32*. Rich bought some firelogs a few days ago. So we have enjoyed the fireplace. Yesterday we started using the karosene heater. Wow it will toast you out of the room. During the day we have been wearing extra layers and sweaters. Mia is wearing a onsie, a sleeper, and socks. I have a tanktop, pants, sweater and socks. Emily has on jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Yesterday she sported a fuzzy coat and orange tabaggon all day.

Emily has been having quite the conversations lately. Last night we had a conversation about the bird Jubi. I brought her into the dining room, because it was too cold on the sunroom. Emily loved that she sat and watched her for hours. She told me that "she could be a jubi." Then she said she need to "take off her boots and let her feet get big so she could climb (jubi's) ladder." Then she said she wanted to get in the cage and sit next to Jubi on the ladder. She just talks crazy stuff. This morning I was singing to one of the music shows on NickJr. and she said "no mama its mines show." This is Emily new thing EVERTHING IS MINES!!!!

Mia loves to play with her toys on the bouncy seat. She has about 3 play times a day. It usually right after she eats. She will sit in her seat and watch her toys and try to bat at them. She is a night owl. She gets reved up around 2 am and keeps me up until around 5. So now I try not to sleep all day.

I've been still very active on Adobe CS3. I'm learing how to make digital paper and loving playing with brushes. Then in my other computer time, I've been making sales on Ebay. Over the weekend I sold over $40 in product. A couple of books, scrapbook supplies and paper. If I could do that everyday I would be set.

Who is Migeo?

Emily Said: "My whole family Mama, Dadoo, Emmy and Migeo."
Melissa: "Who is Megeo?"
Emily: No its Migeo?
Melissa: "What about Mia?"
Emily: Migeo (and just laughed)

So an hour later, I sat down and was feeding Mia and asked again.

Melissa: Who is Migeo? Is Mia Migeo?
Emily: No, Migeo is on Scooby Doo

Sheww I was relived that Mia didn't have a weird nickname.

I love it

Rain Rain Rain I love it. I can listen to the rain for weeks. It has gotten cold this week. We had to plug in the electric heaters for now until we get a new nozzle with the oil furnance and save up some money for oil. We are thinking of picking up scrap wood at Home Depot and Lowes and using the woodstove instead it would be cheaper. We can't cut the tree down at POP's now because it way to wet.

I've been busy every day and night working on my Etsy shop. Last Christmas I opened my shop and added some journaling cards, tags and calendar's then I got pregnant. So I just started added new stuff on the site. I decided to go all digital, so I don't have to buy envelopes and go to the post office. I sold my first digital items yesterday to a lady in Denmark. How cool is that.

Spoiled or Colic

We now have a very fussy baby. She has to be held at all times. Every now and then she'll look around in her bouncy seat or fall asleep in the swing. She loves her baby carrier. If she gets the least bit fussy in she goes and out she goes. Fast asleep. Linda was holding Mia on Tuesday and tried to lay her in the crib. Nope. You have to hold her when she sleeps to.
She has terrible colic and gas. This starts up at night around 2 am and continues until around 5 am. So we are on third shift now. We sleep all day until around 4 pm and then I stay up all night and go to bed between 7-10 am. in the morning. That's ok for me. I'm not working and have no money to go anywhere so I actually like staying up all night in my studio playing.

Wound Up

Emily has stepped up a notch. I not sure what she is eating that makes her go. But she has been getting wound up. She goes non-stop with no nap and will stay up until 2 am. She must have a jealous issue lately, because everytime Rich or I sit down and get comfortable, we have to get her something. She has us running thin. Need changed. Chocolate Milk. Montney. Put shoes on. Change shirt. Take a Bath. and on it goes.

Chalk Today

I've just finished taken about 30+ pictures of paper and supplies to put on ebay. Hopefully sometime soon I'll be able to post a few on ebay. I want to post about 5 every 2 days. I'm trying to take pictures of paper, hold Mia in the carrier and make sure Emily doesn't destroy or damage my supplies all at the same time.

Emily new venture today is craft chalk. She has played with colored pencils, stamps, markers, and now chalk. She has pulled everything out of the top drawer about 5 times in the last 24 hours.

Here is a picture of my very long desk and what it looks like today.

Stamp + INK

Emily has a new hobby. Stamping. I sit on my chair and she stands on her stool and stamps. She picks out a cd full of clear stamps, one color ink pad and starts stamping. I taught her how to put the clear stamp on the block, dip it onto the stamp and press then to clean each stamp before switching ink pads. She sometime forgets to have me clean the the stamp so I have to make sure she only has one ink pad at a time. I'll have to look into buying her some $1 ink pads for her to use and then it will be ok if she mixes colors. I'm letting her use the Studio G stamps that cost $1 a pack.

Evelyn this evening brought over a whole pack of new scrapbook goodies. I told her I was selling old to me product to make money to buy some new supplies. She told me since Rich works on her computers for free, I can have anything in the store. So I shopped over the phone. She brought me the new My Mind's Eye Christmas Paper, October Afternoon Travel line. OA Journaling cards, rubons from last years Christmas and Thanksgiving lines, new EK success treading water punch, new adhesive, 2 new pens and 29 sheets of cardstock. Now I really need to get some pictures developed. I also have the new line of papers from My Minds Eye that i need to make display pages for Scrapnesia.

Let's go bye-bye

Emily Conversation:

Emily: Where are my shoes? (she put her shoes on)
Emily: Mama put your shoes on. Hold my hand so we can bye-bye.

So then we just walked around the house it was 10:45 pm when she decided she wanted to go somewhere. She was walking around in a pink t-shirt, diaper and new tennis shoes. We went onto the sunporch and she said we need to go on the porch. (meaning outside) I told her it was all dark outside.

Emily always wants to go somewhere.

Today, I had a doctor's appointment. Then I went to the Medicaid office and turned some paperwork in. I went nextdoor to BigLots to check if they had any new thickers. I went to Walmart. I put Mia in her baby carrier and she fell right to sleep. I wondered around BigLots with a $30 giftcard. I got Mia a new bottle, bottle liners, 2 new toys, Mylicon drops, and a new martha stewart punch for me. The one that has been on my wishlist.

Tall Stacks of paper

I have been cutting paper scraps for almost a week now. I have tall beautiful stacks of paper sitting on my printer table. 6x6 patterened paper, 6x6 cardstock, 4x6 patterned paper, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 of assorted paper and cardstock and hundreds of punched butterflies.

Emily has been enjoying playing along too. She sits in the chair at the end of the table and lines up paper scraps. She likes to use my green cutter and snitches new paper off the stack to cut up. She also finds shapes and like to pretend she making houses. Or she says that the owl is in tree and she has a owl sitting on leaf shape.

Couch Potato

Our new couch potato. Emily would rather watch TV then play with toys. We argue in the evening who's turn it is to watch TV. She always says its "my turn."

Emily's favorite shows and DVD's right now are:
Scooby Doo
Wow Wow Wubbzy
Velveteen Rabbit
Curious George
Max and Ruby
Thomas the Train

A tornado went through the house . . .

My once a year project. Take all my bins of scraps, sort, cut them up and sell them on ebay. I'm trying to make as much money from paper scraps as possible. Since I'm not working at Belk right now I don't have a dime of spending money so I'm trying to make some.

Today, Emily decided to play with her Fisher Price Little People. She hasn't played with them in months. She pulled out all houses and people and lined them all up. Then she wanted to play with all her puzzles. This evening there was so many toys on the floor, I couldn't walk across the floor without stepping on something. So after taking pictures of our very messy house, I picked up all the toys and put them in their bins.

Is it ready yet?

Today was a tired day. Last night I went to bed with Mia around 1:30 pm. Emily woke up and was constipated. So I laid Mia down and stayed up with Emily. She finally went back to bed at 4 am. So I went to bed. Then Mia was up at 7:30 am and cried for 2 hours with gas and stomach ache. So I just took naps all day inbetween feedings. I was just so tired today with no sleep. Its been over 6 weeks since I've had a goodnight sleep.

Today, Mia was wearing her big that says I love my sister. Rich came over and said she is my sister. Emily said "no my sister", back and forth they went. Then I asked Emily is Mia should go back to the hospital and Emily said "no my sister" so I guess she finally likes her sister.

For supper, I made hamburger curry. I had the cutting board out and one onion cut in half and Emily came in and said "mama's making breafess" (she was trying to say breakfast). I told her I was making meatballs. She got on a her stool and watched as I got a can of greenbeans and tomatoes out of the cupboard. She said these are greenbeans and strawberries. She said she was hungry so I made her wait for supper. So every 5 seconds for 45 minutes she said "Is it ready yet?"

Tonight I was watching Survivor and Emily kept saying Scooby Doo. I just tell her its "my" turn to watch tv. and she says "my turn". Well then I told her we needed to close the porch door, because the scarys were going to come in. She heard and noise and just stared at the door talking about the scarys until she fell asleep. When she awoke she said "the door is closed - the scarys come and eat my hand."

Smile. Today would be a wonderful day not to take life so seriously. Today may end up the way you prefer - and it may not. Happiness is not about being a winner - it's about being gentle with life - being gentle with yourself. Let life be a dance, and choose the kind of dance you want for today - perhaps a gentle loving dance.
