WoW!

Mia has a new word! WOW! She says it all day. She looks at her toys and says WOW. Of course since she is learning English, she repeats it all day long.

Fenced In

Love my baby fence. The grandparents bought this for Emily when she was little. I pulled it out and wrapped it around my office. Mia has room to crawl and play. I had it in a circle like the picture, but soon Mia cried everytime she saw it. So I stretched it out to cover half the room. Now there is plenty of room for both Emily and Mia. I'm not sure how I would survive without it.

Outside

This afternoon around 3 pm, I took the kids outside to enjoy the weather. I bought Emily a new Kailan lego set to go with her previous set from her birthday. I put them all in a basket and she wanted to take them outside to play too. I took Mia and a blanket, some crayons, pen and notebook. Rich got the tent tarp out and laid it on the grass and we all got on that. Mia played with toys and Emily with legos. Rich brought me out a pillow later, and I tried to take a nap. Mia found a crayon and never ate it, she just looked at it and watched Emily with her crayon. I put the notebook in Mia's lap and she tried to color. I think we'll have another crayon artist in the future :)

200th post

Today is my 200th post. BUSY! Busy! Busy!. I can't seem to get away from my computer. Its my new love. You can tell around the house to, its a wreck. So here is a catch up what happened this past week.

Monday - We played outside in the evening. Emily pulled Mia around in the Red wagon. Then Emily would jump in the wagon and I pulled both them around in the grass.
Wednesday - We went to park. The highlight was Emily telling a little boy what the plastic dinosarus were named and that their spots kept them warm.
Friday - Rich and I met up with Jeff and Steph at City Range for my belated birthday dinner. Emily and Mia both stayed at the grandparents. It was Mia's first time to spend the night and be away from me for that long. After dinner, we went to Ingles grocery shopping. Around 3 am I decided to watch the 2nd Bourne movie. I turned it all the way up and snuggled down on the bed with lots of cover and watched it with no interuptions. Around 4:30 am I had to go check on the computer.
Saturday (today) - Emily and Mia came home. Emily played and played with her Little People tonight. She set up the house and was changing her voice and talking for her little people. Mia played in her bumbo for hours. I got lots of orders around 8 pm. So I spent the night cutting and watching back episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Dancing with the Stars. Rich spent the day making BBQ on the grill. I can smell it in the oven now.

In this picture, we were playing princesses.
We all had to wear ribbons in our hair.
Emily told Mia "I love her"

Green Hoolegan

Emily pulled out the chalk to color. UMMM. I don't think this is coloring. I took the chalk away as I saw her crumbling chalk on the desk, then I looked over and found this as she was rubbing chalk into the desk. It quickly become bath time.

Playing Together

This is what Mia and Emily do while I work on the computer, put together orders and cut stuff. Mia loves her bumbo when she tires of the excer-saucer. Emily will get down on the floor and play with her train set and Mia loves going through Emily box of little people.

That a lot of cutting

Emily said she was making a bed for her "Emilys" her paper dolls I cut out for her. She dumped the entire contents of the trash can on the floor. Rich came in and said "wow that's a lot of cutting". My first thought was how long it would take to clean it up.

Sleeping In

Since about Wednesday, We've all been going to bed early around6-7 and getting up bright and early. I've been getting up at 5:30 am every morning even if the kids didn't not this morning. It was raining and dark, I was exhausted from getting up so early and then staying up until 9-10pm. So I slept in.

11:30 am. I stopped working on a custom order and put Mia to bed. It took a while for her to go to sleep. Then I took out the trash, took the trash can to the road. Washed all the dishes. Cleaned all the counters. Swept the floor. Started the laundry. Pheww all in 1 hour.

12:47 pm. On the computer now, contimplating whether I should go eat some leftover KFC. Emily is bouncing on the couch and Mia is still sound asleep. Rich is on a job.

Snow

Here is my picture of the ice/sleet snow we got this past weekend. Don't you like it? I didn't take a single picture of the snow. I asked Emily if she wanted to go and play and walk on the ice (then I could have taken my camera outside and taken a picture) and she said "No, I'm going to finish watching Max and Ruby." She finished watching Max and Ruby and continued on watching all the other cartoons and never once asked to go outside. So no snow pictures this time around, maybe next time or next year.

December Daily Day Two

Our days and nights are all switched around. So at night is our day and daytime is for sleeping.

Emily's night:

She wanted to dance around in her fancy purple dress with her black shoes. I told her she couldn't get it dirty. She insisted that she must wear shoes to wear her dress. Mia has a dress to match and she wanted to wear that too, I told her it wouldn't fit. After playing dress up, she asked for the brown kraft paper. She tore herself off a huge piece and said she was ready to paint. Mia was finally alseep by then, So i got a plate found the foam paint brush and she started paiting. She made 2 flowers and couple of swashes and then she was done. The rest of the night consisted of eating hotdogs and mustard, changing diapers and watching Wow, Wow Wubbzy movie and playing computer games.

Mia night:

Mia was very bad. I had to put her in the carrier. She was fighting sleep. She cried and fussed for hours. Finally she gave up and slept for 4 hours. Pheww.

My night:

I started by working on some new calendar cards, when I got an email for a custom order. I spent the rest of the night custom making 45 yellow circle number tags. I finished and printed and they printed an ugly mustard color. So after cleaning the cartridge, I ended up remaking all those tags a lighter yellow and then the printer printed them a beautiful daffidil yellow. I was up until 8:30 am when I finally crashed by the heat of the karosene heater.

Rich:

Slept and snored all night while we played.

December Daily - Day One

Hmm. Mostly slept had vistors all day and slept.

Emily stayed up all night and fell asleep around 7:30 am. Then woke up around 11 am when Grandma, Sophie and Pop dropped by. They left around 1:30 pm. She watched some TV. Then around 3 pm. Rickey and Linda came by and stayed until 5:30 pm. Emily finally crashed out for a nap around 5 pm. They she was wide awake around 7 pm. Now she is running around talking about Birthday's.

Mia slept with me until 11:30 am and then Grandma held her this morning while I washed the dishes. After they left, Mia was grumpy So I laid down with her and we both fell asleep. We practically slept through Linda and Rickey's visit. I think we woke up around 4:30 pm. Linda held her for awhile. Since then Mia has played and slept. Now (10:59 pm) she talking and cooing in her crib playing with a musical toy.

I slept all day and just couldn't get awake and going. This morning I washed some dishes. This afternoon after Linda and Rickey left I went in my studio and packed up an etsy order. Then printed out some more stuff to go in the bin. I worked all night and then tonight on some new calendar cards. Hopefully they will be done in the next few days.

Rich made supper tonight and left the kitchen a wreck. I told him I would clean up since he cooked. I still haven't done it. It will be around 2 am I'm sure before I get around to it.

Feels like a Saturday

Is it really Tuesday already? Well Friday 1st shift went well and that was the end. Friday afternoon emily took a nap and it was all over she was up until 5 am on Saturday. 4:30 am on Sunday and 4:45 am on Monday. So needless to say we are still on 2nd and 3rd shift. Yesterday I had only 3 hours of sleep from 7 am-10 am. Mia was so good in the morning. She played in her bed until 12 pm and then took a 3 hour nap in her crib. During that time, I cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom, swept the floors, cleaned off the dining room table, laundry, folded clothes and even ironed. At around 1:30 pm Tracie and Aaron stopped by for a visit. They left around 2 pm. Then Sophie, Tim and Grandma came for the afternoon from 2:30-5 pm. I left the Emily and Mia (for the first time) with them and went to the post office to mail off a package to Cananda. I ran into Big Lots for 5 minutes to see if they had any new thickers. Around 6 pm I was ready for a nap. We didn't go to bed until 5:30 am this morning and slept until 3:30 pm.

Emily leaned how to paint with stamps today. I taped kraft paper to my desk and pulled out the foam stamps. She figured it out very quickly and was very careful not to get on her hands. Then she told me she was done and went in the living room to watch Tom and Jerry and fell asleep on the couch. Mia woke up and I put her in the bouncy in front of the mirror in the hall. She loves to look at herself. This week she discovered her hands. She watches them, rubs her eyes and loves to chew on them.

Today I working on re-designing the numbers on my MOD orange jewel calendar. I relized while working on the months that I forgot the #20 in July and have to resend it to one of my buyers on etsy. I finished the Storybook line last week. My new line I have in my head is Sunbonnet Sue. I pulled out all my fabric from the basement looking for vintage fabric and my Sunbonnet Sue quilt. I'm going to scan them all in and make papers, cards and tags with them.

Well I would say I'm going back now to create, except Mia is crying and the "V" is coming on tv in 8 minutes. So off to feed Mia and put her to sleep and watch my show. I'm also waiting for Rich to get back from the store with some canned pepsi that I've been craving.

Today

Here a pictures of my new paper line called Alphabet Storybook. I've been on my computer day and night (mostly night) creating this. I have had the idea in my head for quite some time. I have 6 more papers on paper that I'm still working on getting in digital format. The colors i chose to match the vintage illustrations. I printed out these 2 sheets tonight in 8x8. They look so good. Now i just need to use them.

Well I though Emily might reset her clock. She stayed up until 4:50 am last night and then slept until 3 pm. Tonight she went to bed around 12:30 am, but its 4:17 am and she is wide awake. I fell asleep around 7 pm and slept until 10 pm. I watched CSI: NY. then I got working on the computer. I tried to go back to bed around 3:30 am, but Mia wanted to play instead. So we are up again on the computer. Mia has been good today she took long naps in the crib. During that free time, I did a couple loads of clothes, ironed all Rich's clothes, washed some glass jars out and put food in them.

Sneak Peak

Here is a sneak peak of a new flashcard I'm making for Etsy. I have plans also to make a whole paper line to match.

Today, Emily didn't get up until 2: 30 pm, but then she didn't go to bed until around 3:45 am. I got up around 12:30 pm and then fell asleep again around 2-3. Rich came home with food from Burger King. So we all got up then to eat.

Right now 6:12 pm.

Mia is sleeping in her carrier.

Emily just took a bath and is watching cartoons.

Rich is cleaning out the garage and loading bins to the basement.

I'm working on the computer making my new flashcards.

I love Cold Rainy days!

Today is cold and pouring rain. I'm all nice and cozy wearing black sport pants and a sweatshirt working on the computer listening too Andrew Biocolli. Mia is sound asleep in her carrier. Emily is at grandparents. Rich is working on Emily's game computer. I love listening to the rain.

Last night I finally bought a Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet. I did lots of researching and price checking. I decided just for a few more dollars to go with a brand new one instead of refurbished one. With free shipping it should arrive next Monday, I'll cross my fingers and hope I see it at the end of this week.

I made a new label set last night, while working on a ELO 17" touchscreen monitor. This morning I showed Emily how she could play games and paint with her finger. She loves it. The Freehand paint is like fingerpainting without the supplies and the mess. She was so proud to sit in her chair and show grandma how it worked. So Rich is making her a computer box so she can have her own set up.

Rich set me up with a ViewSonic monitor attached to my laptop. I so nice being able to work on a large screen. I didn't realize that my 12" laptop monitor was so small until I started working on a 17". So maybe I'll get more done, or at least the color will look better. Now I need to get my printer working.

6 weeks + hair dye + cut

This morning I didn't even bother getting up until 1:30 pm. Mia was sleeping and Emily is at Grandma's. I talked to Erica this afternoon about cutting my hair myself. After I got off the phone, I tried it. Bend over, flip your hair over your head, put a pony tail in and then cut. I just cut about 1 inch just enough to trim the ends. Then I dug around in the medicine cabinet and found my hair dye. I mainly dyed the roots to a darke blonde to get rid of the grey.

Today Mia is 6 weeks old. She eats 6 oz every 4-5 hours no problem. I can't believe how big she is getting. She has a fat belly and is getting rolls of fat on her legs. Last night she slept from 3-7:30 and then until 11:30 am. Her new thing, is the baby carrier. She loves it. If she is the least bit fussy I put her in the carrier and she is out. She will sleep in 4 hour stretches. My problem is my shoulders ache. I guess I have to gain some muscle. Maybe it will get better, because I can sure get more done with my hands free.

7:47 pm. I'm feeling detached today, which is nice. Mia slept in her crib for over an hour while I dyed my hair. Now I'm actually in my studio catching up on my blog and added pictures, Emily is watching Scooby Doo and Mia is asleep in her swing. I really need to get and wash the dishes and make the taco meat. Rich will be home soon from the grocery store with the rest of the ingredients. Tomatoes and cheese.

9:15 pm. Aaah. The tacos were so good. I made taco meat, cut up tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and shredded cheese. The kitchen is not cleaned up. Oh well I least I washed all the dishes before I started. Emily is watching Thomas the Train and Mia is again sleeping in the swing.

Quote

Smile. Today would be a wonderful day not to take life so seriously. Today may end up the way you prefer - and it may not. Happiness is not about being a winner - it's about being gentle with life - being gentle with yourself. Let life be a dance, and choose the kind of dance you want for today - perhaps a gentle loving dance.
