Daddy Date
Rich got home from work. I was sleeping on the couch and Mia was sleeping. Emily had been wide awake since 2:30 am. Rich got emily dressed and off they went. They went out to eat at BK the one with no playground. Emily said she got to see the ducks. Rich took her to Milikin to see the waterfall and talk to the ducks. Then they stopped at Big Lots and Emily came home with a big My Little Pony house and all these little accessories. She played and played with them until she came down with the "I wants". Now I think she is ready to sleep.
I want
Emily has a bad case of the "I wants". In about a 30 second window she had a huge phrase of I wants.
I want to take my shoes off. I want some coke. I want some chocolate milk. I want to watch scooby Doo.

Outside
This afternoon around 3 pm, I took the kids outside to enjoy the weather. I bought Emily a new Kailan lego set to go with her previous set from her birthday. I put them all in a basket and she wanted to take them outside to play too. I took Mia and a blanket, some crayons, pen and notebook. Rich got the tent tarp out and laid it on the grass and we all got on that. Mia played with toys and Emily with legos. Rich brought me out a pillow later, and I tried to take a nap. Mia found a crayon and never ate it, she just looked at it and watched Emily with her crayon. I put the notebook in Mia's lap and she tried to color. I think we'll have another crayon artist in the future :)

Little Cook
Emily was wound up one morning. I told her if she was really good, she could help me make brownies. I had gotten some Pillsbury brownie mix from Target and had been craving them for sometime. Emily got on her stool and wanted to help with every step. She held the measuring cup as I filled it with oil. Then we added water and eggs. The she tried to stir them. When I was scrapping the bowl into the pan, she said "Mama, that's my job." So handed her a spatula and she scrapped. Then into the oven they went for 20 minutes. Those have been the best brownies. Definitely will be going back to get some more Pillsbury brownies soon.

Funny
This morning, Emily has been saying the funniest stuff.
"You don't know how to cut, you're too little"
I cut her up a stack of flashcards, after going through all of them she said, "I'm going to sell them."
Some of the flashcards had words and pictures. Here's her response to each of the flashcards.
(Dog) "Dog sits in the chair"
(Cow) "Cow says moo and the sheep ba ba"
(Spoon) "Spoon is for eating noodles"
(fork) "I eat noodles with a fork"
(Spoon) "Spoon gives me noodles and you feed me"
(fish) "Fish digs holes"
(dog) "Dog climbs up the chair just like Tabi and Elijah doos"
(cup) "Cup finishes noodles in your plate and scoops them up and digs holes"
(cat) "Look at the Cats, They dance"
(#1) "A number it digs holes"

Its Spring

Tim and Sophie brought over the cutest matching nighties for the kids. After Mia had her bath yesterday we dressed her up in the whale. I put the whale bottoms and then she wanted to wear the butterfly wings. They had 2 easter buckets, but i wanted to get pictures outside. So I grabbed a quilt, the camera and the Easter buckets, each grandparent had a kid and we went outside. 117 pictures later, Mia didn't smile once, she just kept cutting her eyes over at Emmy looking at all her bucket contents wondering why her bucket was empty. ( I had dumped out the green grass and candy out of Mia's bucket so she wouldn't eat it and just gave her the empty bucket and shovel).Wednesday, March 24, 2010
Spring is Here!

Enjoying today weather! Tim, Sophie and I took the kids to the park. Mia fell asleep in the car seat on the way there and slept most of the time. Emily played and played. She ran around making new friends. She got on top of one of the plastic dinosaurs and told a little boy that is was a "triceratops" then she went on to explain that the spots on him where to keep him warm. Where did she learn this?? Computer?? Maybe Diego or Dora, I've dinosaurs on those 2 shows? She had a name for the other dinosaur too. She was correct for both of them. After about an hour, Emily had me on the slides. She said "C'mon, lets climb up the stairs. I'll show you how!" Around 4 pm it was really starting to warm up, so we convenced Emily to go see the ducks by telling her we were going to get some french fries. She left was out a meltdown. We saw the ducks and turtle then left and went to BK. In the car, I kept asking Emily is she wanted some Fries, she just kept mumbling "I just want a coke." I got a coke and a chocolate milk shake. When Sophie and Tim left, we all crashed out for about 3 hours.

Tea Party Time
Linda brought over a set of play food the other day. The plastic tea party set she got for her birthday. So the other night, she said, "Let me show you how to cook." She got her barbies and her food and wanted to set them up. I told her we had to find a table cloth. So I went digging around in my fabric bin and she picked out the pink one. I spread the fabric over her lego table and we set up the tea party. Notice her barbies were guest at the party and I had to have their own tea cups full of coke. During the party I kept asking if I could have chicken. Emily said no and gave me the carrot and said that I had to cut it up like this (she showed me how to use the knife and fork, and would get upset if I stopped cutting). We played for awhile, when Mia started making alot of noise to irritate Emily, Emily had a melt-down and that was the end of the tea party.

Where do I belong?
I was getting Mia out of the walker and Emily started this dialong. Where do I belong?
Emily: "Dadoo belongs in his office. That is where he belongs?
Me: Where does Mama belong?
Emily: "Mama belongs in the mama room.
Me: Where does Emily belong?
Emily: "Emily belongs in her bedroom on her bed with her kitty cats"
Me: Where does Mia belong?
Emily: "in the car."
********
Mia has just started this new thing. Fighting Sleep!!!. Instead of laying in her crib and drinking a bottle and going right to sleep, she fights it. She cries and cries. The only solution I have found. Is just to hold her in my lap at my desk and play music for her or to watch internet tv.
Mia drank out of cup this morning. I had a little bit of orange soda in my cup and she guzzled it all down. Her new food she loves is yogurt, she couldn't get enough of it.
******
Thoughts for my birthday. Is having a couple date night and going out to eat and leaving the kids at grandma's, even Mia!!

Today!
Is already starting out long, it started at 3 am this morning. Mia played in her bumbo awhile then it was crib time and then the walker. Its 7:10 am and Emily has having a meltdown, because I won't let her dig through some of my office drawers. When she is getting less attention, she starts acting out. She got up around 4:30 am and was playing good until now. Now Mia is fighting sleep and fussing and Emily is bawling.
I have to go run errands this morning when stores actually open, because by 3 pm I'll be asleep or a walking zombie.

Costume
Emily has quite the imagination. She is talking about costumes tonight. She said, "We are going to print out costums. I'm going to be a James (thomas the train) and you are going to be a Thomas. " Then she said we are going to a spooky swap.
Yesterday she said we were going treak or treating in a spooky swap with frogs. The frogs were sad and had hurt knees.
Then she takes ribbon out of the ribbon drawer and drapes it over my arm and says that I'm going to be the little prince and she is the princess.
